"Amy Schiappas original four-chair Orchard Street parlor got so busy that she had to relocate to more spacious digs in late 2007, and her client base of artists, designers, and musicians has followed. Now a bustling seven-chair spot with a roster of ten stylists, Fringes space melds original architectural detailshigh tin ceilings, brick walls, ceramic tiled floorswith shiny new workstations and a rotating collection of works by local artists." - NY Mag
"Loved this place! They did a great job on my hair <3"
"Rosie was great! So patient and pleasant, and willing to explain everything she was doing. My hair looks great, I didn't even know it was possible for my hair to look like this!"
"I got Rosie to color my hair and it was great! My hair has this shiny and multidimensional highlight in it that isn't too harsh. The salon is also very hip and cozy. I look forward to getting my gloss treatment soon!"
"I LOVED this place!!!! Rosie was awesome. I will definitely be going back!! AND they cut bangs for free in between cuts!"
From Yelp (where Fringe Salon has a 4.5-star rating from 62 reviews):
"Love this place, have been coming here for a year now. The salon is small, but they play great music, always ask if you want something to drink, very polite. I have really long, thick straight/wavy hair. Some stylists just don't really know how to cut my hair except give it layers/razor it which end up making me have broom head. Katie is great, she knows how to thin out my hair so it's not so heavy. I'm not the best at styling hair so she always cuts it so that I can just wash and go. Their products are pretty good also." - Lisa C. (4/22/11)
"I was visiting NYC from LA and was in desperate need of a haircut. Katie was a miracle worker, doing an awesome job both sticking with what I liked about my previous cut but also taking a few inches off to give me a nice, light and fresh look! Would definitely go back next time I am in town." - I.D. (3/29/11)
"I've been going to the Fringe Salon for almost 7 years. The customer service is always top notch from Amy, my stylist, to the assistants and host. I live in London now but I visit New York on occasion and I savor the opportunity to get my hair cut by someone I can trust to do an excellent job. I have curly hair and I love what they are able to do with it. I'd recommend this salon to anyone. I have had some awful haircuts in the past but Fringe has never let me down." - Halina S. (6/29/11)
